COCO
Coco is a female Chocolate Lab rescued from Va. Beach Animal Control. She was a total mess when we got her, having lived on the streets for sometime. Two years later she is a great dog and working on her K9 Good Citizenship. She started jumping last year w/ some hesitation but now if you see us at an event watch her bark me onto the dock.
BAILEY
Bailey is a male Chocolate Lab who on his first night w/ us fell into the pool at my in-laws house and has never looked back. He started jumping at Trish's parents pool, and when we took him to the dock for the first time he just said, OK. Bailey loves to jump, go to the beach and run and his morning walks. He can be a little snobby at times but he is very calm and laid back, until you get to the dock!!!!!!
PIPER
Piper, not to be confused with Hyper is a very energetic mini Labradoodle. She was born September 23, 2007 on a farm in Iowa, but was destined to become a Hampton Roads resident due to her extreme love of water be it ocean, lake, pond, or pool. Her favorite toy is a tennis ball. She loves to play fetch with Max, Abby, Austin, and Jack. Piper is very excited to be a participant in any Dock Dog event.
PEARL
Pearl is a yellow Labrador Retriever who was named after her Mom's favorite band, Pearl Jam. Pearl joined Tidewater DockDogs at the end of summer 2008. She took a little convincing before she was ready to jump off the dock and into the pool, but now the only convincing she needs is when it's time to leave the pool! Pearl started competing in April of 2009 at the Junior level, and she is currently working toward her Senior title.
NALA
Nala was born February, 2009. She is a Yellow Lab with an endless amount of energy. She loves being in the water whether it's swimming in the pool, beach, or even just running through the sprinkler. Her favorite activity is retrieving. She's quite a character and loves being around people and other dogs.
REMINGTON
Remington is believed to be a Spanish Mastiff/Lab Mix. He's 2 years old, 120 lbs., and a huge mama's boy. He doesn't jump off the dock, but rather continues running right off the end. Although his jump isn't much, his splash sure is. He loves any body of water and will literally drag us there to get in it. He doesn't need anything to retrieve, he just loves to leisurely swim.
BRISTOL
Bristol has been a member of Tidewater Dock Dogs since May 2010. She was "adopted" by us because her original family couldn't give her the attention she needed. She was born October 23, 2008 and is an AKC registered Golden. It took her a while at orientation to become ok with jumping off the dock, but now she is flying off at around 14 feet. She doesn't jump the "standard" way, but has developed her own unique form instead--which makes us laugh.
RAJA
Raja will be 3 years old on 08/01/10 and has been a Tidewater Dock Dog since May of 2010. We adopted Raja about a year ago, shortly after we adopted one of her puppies. She is an American Staffordshire Terrier and is currently working towards getting her Canine Good Citizen Certification. It didn't take Raja long to willingly jump off the dock but she did have some "stage fright" at her first event. Once she got over that she quickly caught the "bug" of Dock Dogs and will run up and down the hallway howling when we are getting ready to go to the dock. She has been steadily improving her jump and her personal best is 19'3''. Raja is true to her breed and is a total comedian...after jumping she will often throw herself on the ground and roll around. We love Raja very much and can't imagine our lives without her!
MADDIE
Maddie is probably one of the noisiest members of Tiderwater Dock Dogs. From the time she arrives at the dock, she lets it be known that she is excited and ready to jump. Her intensity and drive for Dock Dogs was apparent from her very first time jumping at a fun competition. One of the dogs didn't want to jump for his toy, so Maddie broke away from her owner, jumped over the side and into the pool to retrieve the toy herself, breaking her owner's finger in the process. Maddie has boundless energy and grudingly leaves the dock most days not because she is tired but because she has tired out her owner.
